ding sound issue

Postby wonderwall » Thu Jul 16, 2015 7:21 am

Dear all,

I have searched a lot but could not find the solution of this. the Agents are reporting and i have observed the same in my testing as well that the intimation sound"ding" is not playing properly. I have configured it properly. it plays sometimes but i can see it being played in the logs. sometimes when it is played the sound is too low for the agent to realize that the sound was played. i have observed the same in my testing as well.

Second is when its played it sounds funny sometimes. Is it possible that the allowed codecs are ulaw and alaw but the voice file is in gsm format??

While I note you posted your installation method, you did not post your Vicidial Version with Build. This is required for free support on this board. It also means I should probably mention to you clearly that Goautodial is just an installation method for Vicidial. Another method (approved by The Vicidial Group) is Vicibox.com

On that point I should mention that your server hardware may simply be having a bit of a compatibility issue, or there may be some other installation issue and it may be a good idea to try the Vicibox installer. You could try a 2nd install and test that one to see if the problem appears there, but do note that if the hardware isn't identical the problem may crop up again when you get back to this hardware.

Another alternative may be to turn off hyperthreading or check the OS for any processes that are occasionally bogging down the system. Your server load could simply be high as well.

It is unlikely that it is a codec issue.

Also: Are these calls inbound or outbound? Are you logging the irregularity reports to see if there is a pattern?
