Hi guys,

Is eaccelerator removed from ViciBox_v8.x86_64-8.0.1.iso?

vicibox8:~ # php -v
PHP 5.5.14 (cli)
Copyright (c) 1997-2014 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v2.5.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2014 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.0.4-dev, Copyright (c) 1999-2014, by Zend Technologies

Thanks
Roy

Code: Select all
locate eaccel

Vicibox 5.x.x returns one configuration file and one live module (plus documentation), and a couple cache entries.

Vicibox 6.x.x returns one configuration file and one live module (plus documentation)

Vicibox 7.x.x returns ... nothing

I'll guess Vicibox 8 returns nothing as well. I think they retired it in favor of a better solution in Vicibox 7.

I believe the Zend caching engine is built in to PHP now, so no need for eaccellerator.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PHP_accelerators

"Starting with PHP 5.5 the Zend Opcache is integrated and shipped with PHP."

And EAaccelerator won't work/compile against PHP greater then 5.4.

It is installed in ViciBox v.7. If you do php -v you'll see it in the output.
