Polycom not register

Hello;

vicibox 5.0.3, vicidial 2.8-420a, asterisk 1.8.23.0-vici

I have asterisk Asterisk 1.8.23.0-vici and Polycom 331 and I am able to register from local area network and not able to register from outside the office. Also from outside the office, I am able to register via PhonerLite softphone and not able to register via Zoiper softphone.

So from outside the office, I am not able to register from Zoiper softphone and not able to register from Polycom 331.

I set the externip to the router real IP address.
Also, I set nat=yes.

What could be the problem? Why I am able to register from outside the office using Phoner Lite softphone and not able using zoiper softphone or Polycom 331?

Is there anything special settings that can resolve this problem?

Resolved.

But how and why?

It is resolved by doing core restart now.

The question is: why this problem appeared with zoiper, xlite and Polycom Phones?

By the way, we do not face this problem while we are trying to register locally "from local area network".

Any advise for this problem reason?

Often the firewall at your remote location will close the ports before a registration renewal. Thus the phone will think it's registered, but will not be shown as registered in Asterisk and the phone will not ring because the signal will not reach it.

Solution: Reduce the time for registration renewal or increase the time your remote firewall keeps ports open. Or restart zoiper/reregister the phone just before the agent logs in.

Hello William;

I am talking about the first registration (when we configured the Phones and clicked on submit), it is appearing at asterisk CLI that Wrong Password and the password is correct. This happens on Zoiper and Polycom and does not happens on other softphone !! And it happens when we need to register from outside the site (note local area network).

If it is related to registration renewal, then it is should register initially .. But I am getting the below line:

I did upgrade for Polycom firmware, but still the same.
And it is appearing at the Polycom that it is not registered

The remote end doesn't know it's behind a NAT firewall. It's using it's internal IP to register when it should use it's internet address.

entirely possible. some phones (3CX for example) have different settings for NAT vs No NAT (in office or out).

Also, if your Vicidial server is behind a firewall you will likely need to set your externip.

Also, be sure your agent phones have NAT set if they are behind firewalls at their locations. sip show peers (there is a column for NAT).

Thanks a lot for all the efforts.
I discover the problem was mainly from the router as it is old router. We changed it with new one and every thing worked fine.
