Here is another interesting one. On my new 3.1.6 install, as listed below, I get no leads in hopper.
In the crontab of the Database server there is an entry:
### updater for VICIDIAL hopper
* * * * * /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_VDhopper.pl -q
However, if I run it manually I get the following error:
db1:~ # /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_VDhopper.pl -q
DBI connect('asterisk:localhost:3306','cron',...) failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) at /usr/share/astguiclient/AST_VDhopper.pl line 273

You have new mail in /var/mail/root
Putting this entry in any of the Dialers' crontab works.

The cron password is correct and mysql is running.

well ... if it tries to connect and fails and you try to connect but succeed ... there must be a difference in "how".
perhaps the astguiclient.conf file has localhost but needs your ip instead? perhaps 127.0.0.1? (although I don't recall bumping into this ... ?) but worth experimentation

You gotta be kidding me! Changing localhost to 127.0.0.1 solved both issues! Firstly the hopper script runs fine on the DB server. Secondly the call count is now showing in the live-report. Once again you came to the rescue.... thanks William!!
