g729 code of vicibox 5.0.3

Postby callit » Tue Sep 03, 2013 1:19 am

hi,
I need to install the codec g729 in vicibox 5.0.3, that is opensuse 12.3 and Asterisk 1.8.
I followed this guide in prior periods for vicibox 4 "G.729 and G.723.1 codecs x86 (and x86_64) Linux and FreeBSD binaries for Asterisk open source PBX "
(working properly) and instead vicibox in 5.0.3 will not install.

Each version of asterisk has its own codebase. If you purchase the codec you will get one specific to your asterisk version. If you get a free/educational/test version from "wherever", it is up to you to test all the binaries until one works. We charge $99 to install for any version (but have never installed for 1.8! LOL). We have fiber so we don't really need it, and the same goes for our colocation customers. But for those away from the Good Net we have installed in asterisk 1.2 and 1.4 many times over the years.

Ive tested and install g729 codec on Vicibox5.0.3 Asterisk 1.8

Be sure you double check the codec you downloaded is for Asterisk version you are currently using.

Or you could just post a link ... if it's a test version. If it's the same one everyone else uses, then it's just a matter of surfing through the site to land at the correct one.

what was the spec for the version you installed? (Filename?) and the hardware and OS type (64 bit/32 ...?)
