Where can I download a compatible codec for my Windows Media Player 11?
Whenever I open my wmp, a small window pops up and it says something like "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file." Can someone please tell me where I can download the supported codec?

What codec is the file type that you get in your downloads? Try using VLC player if WMP does not work, it supports a wider variety of codecs.

you can also use crontab -e to modify the format of the files being stored (so WMP can play them). It is possible to store as GSW (a gsm version WMP can play if I recall) and of course MP3.

If you read the recordings scripts in crontab, you'll have more information to work with. Much of this is covered in the Manual as well. (also shows how to move the recordings to a different web server so your vicidial server isn't bogged down by people listening to recordings, even though the links will still appear properly within vicidial ...)

gsm can play on quicktime, the best is try downloading adobe audition or soundforge it supports almost all sound codecs

on the other hand, MP3 will play on just about anything.

Can anyone recommend some audio software where you can load 2 WAV / MP3 files and overlay them to compare differences in a waveform style?

Thanks in advance.
