troubleshoot soft phone

Currently have the newest version of VicidialNow (GoAutoDial), can register and use X-lite soft phone through the local network, however cannot get X-lite soft phone to work through the public IP. It registers, but there is no sound connection. Need to a qualified person to troubleshoot. Thank you.

register but no sound is almost always a firewall/router issue.

generally takes about an hour IF it's possible to do.

please remember that the SIP method of call transport does NOT support DOUBLE FIREWALLS (ie: if your server has a firewall AND your sip phone has a firewall, SIP cannot send the sound successfully unless one of the two firewalls is specially enhanced to support sip calls).

our pricing is listed at catalog.poundteam.com (service level determines start of work). but consider forwarding ports 5060 (TCP) and port 10000-25000 (UPD) through the firewall to your server before acquiring help.

Whoever you get to help, they will likely need access to both your server (via ssh and SIP at least) and your firewall through remote management settings or something along the lines of logmein.com (free!) on one of your local machines (you'll still need to supply at least the admin user and password for the router)

Took me a while to figure out which one was YOU. I had three like that yesterday. LOL

Just don't tell 'em how cheap you got it! :shock:
