Not seeing max calls that are set in VICIDIAL Trunks?

Postby Nortelguy » Mon Dec 15, 2008 10:55 pm

I am dialing with SIP currently and I have 5 megs of bandwidth & using G729 on all calls. First things I have Max VICIDIAL Trunks set to 80 with 20 remote agents. My campaign is set to Adapt_Taper I am running Asterisk 1.2.30.2, 2.0.x DB Version 1116. Ok now that thats outa the way heres the problem :)

I start dialing my campaign Vicidial Web interface says there are 80 calls being placed, that number bounces around depending if someone answers the line and it moves between either 60 - 80 at all times. However when I am at the CLI and I do 'sip show channels' I see 40-53 calls being placed. What could cause Vici to have this discrepancy in calls ? I can't see this being a drop ratio problem since it really does say its placing "80 calls" according to the Web interface. I have seen it say at the CLI it was actually placing 80 calls but that was once, never really seen it happen again. Should I check something with my setup ?

How about you try "show channels concise". that will show you the actual number of Asterisk channels in progress.

astguiclient version that you installed?

hmm still something isnt adding up .. here is what I did
I opened notepad put these two statements in it with a carriage return at the end:
sip show channels
show channels concise

set putty to log, opened asterisk pasted the line in there so it captures both results instantaneously. What I noticed is that 'sip show channels' may show 53 calls but when I count the calls from 'show channels concise' I only see 43. I ran the cmd twice just to be sure it wasn't a fluke and both results were about the same as my conclusion mentioned earlier. Most of the lines I can see the call progress for the phone number being dialed. I do see this every so often

'SIP/SIPtrunk-08270830!default!!1!Down!AppDial!(Outgoing Line)!0000000000!!3!!(None)
SIP/SIPtrunk-082765b0!default!!1!Down!AppDial!(Outgoing Line)!0000000000!!3!!(None)' (Phone number has been trimmed on purpose)

It appears that is the call making progress from different states throughout asterisk/astgui. A quick search inside the log for '08270830' shows this to be true. What should I be on the lookout for in this log ?

Thanks for your assistance Matt 8)
