Asterisk Server Time Sync Issue

Postby nsavagegigatech » Sun Jan 21, 2024 1:06 pm

Hello everyone,
I've recently setup a vicidial AIO server using an azure image from "Solve DevOps". It runs on Centos 7.
https://ibb.co/GHHKL78
https://ibb.co/4F4sxYX
https://ibb.co/6b4z1n3
https://ibb.co/d5QyCyG

I've worked on a server where everything is updated to the latest version of vicidial and centos along with another server with a clean install of the image and both have the same issue.
I'm having this issue where the asterisk server will go out of sync with the DB & PHP server and every 10 seconds, it will update back to being in sync then stop updating for another 10 seconds.

Here is my NTP.conf
https://ibb.co/vkr8k7k

I've read that its suggested that the Asterisk server should be using the DB as the master time server, but i'm not exactly sure how to accomplish this.

I also have the correct asterisk version added to my Admin>Server settings. cron username and password are all defaults. timezones are all set correct. the IP in all configurations are set to the private IP (Except where it asks for the external IP. The server also has an SSL certificate assigned to it for the WebRTC phone to work.

I'm not sure if this is simply a virtualization issue since I know vicidial doesn't play well in that environment (Then again, I don't know why they would consider making this azure image if that is the case).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and if i'm missing any configurations that would be useful, please let me know.

Note - The server I'm using for this is 2vCPUs and 8GB of RAM

Thank you

Yes virtual servers do not work well, try on bare metal and your problem will be gone

Yeah i'm sort of confused because people say Vicidial does not work well in a virtualized environment, but I see plenty of people stating they have been doing it for years without a problem.
I don't really have any other option but to use it in a virtualized environment.

I'm trying to find out if there is a specific configuration that is needed for a VPS to get this working properly
