The problem that Routing Initiated Records solves is mostly for companies that have network problems that cause recordings to be started too late or not at all. The new change to the Manual Dial process allows for the recording to be initiated as a part of the dialing process instead of as a separate process launched by the agent screen after receiving confirmation of the manual dial process launching. The Manual Dial routing process is complete when the call goes to the agent, so by necessity the Recording Delay has to be 0 for you to use this new feature with Manual Dial calls.

So you could still set a delay for Auto Dial routing right? Just set 0 on manual dial routing.

Not exactly, if you enable Routing Initiated Recording, for auto-dial it will effectively ignore the delay setting. For manual dial it will not use RIR if you set a delay.

Super. So, set Routing Initiated Recording to Y for auto dial and manual dial, don't set a delay, and all calls should be recorded.

Great feature guys.

And if you did want to cut down on recordings, set Routing Initiated Recording for auto dial to N and set a delay of 10 or 15 seconds. And all recordings will be executed, except if you are experiencing network problems at that time?

I guess for the guys who are required to submit a recording with every sale they should stick with Routing Initiated Recording = Y and set no delay though to be safe.

Yes, that's a good summary of how it works. Thanks :)
