How stable are

-whisper
-listen/monitor
-barge

in Asterisk 13.20 (using asterisk 13.20 on vicibox 8)

Listen/Montor/Barge have always been stable. Whisper is using newer options within Asterisk 1.8 and higher, and it appears to be pretty stable when using those versions.

I have set them up and they work fine... But there is always a spike in asterisk load whenever we use any of these features...Is that normal....
Usually our load is around 4-6 on a 8 core system. But it goes to 11-13 when we start live listening...etc.

Is that something that is normal or we have misconfigured something here?

The only significant load I've seen when using these features is when the monitoring phone is not hung up, but is instead put on hold, resulting in many stuck channels that inflate the load on the server.

We use webphone. So when we listen to a live call, we usually refresh the page to hang up the call (are these considered hung or on hold)?

You would have to look at the Asterisk "core show channels verbose" output to see if those calls are being hung up or not.

Are these calls usually hung up?

They certainly should be. If they are not, something else is going wrong. I've only seen it happen once on one client's system, and they were not using WebRTC phones for the monitoring. I was never able to replicate the issue like the client was able to, but they couldn't tell me what softphone their managers were using either.

We use webrtc...
Just 3 calls for AMD running for around 3 hours on core show channels verbose...I don't know why.
