I need to add columns to the vicidial_list table, unfortunately, when I tried it all went pear shaped and I had to re-install. Is there a secret to doing this? Can anyone help me out please? Maybe there is a better alternative.

We usually recommend adding a new table and using the web form to access the new information.
How many fields do you need to access?
Do you need to load records into these additional fields or are they just for entry once connected?

There are 66 columns in our existing survey table and we would need possibly another 10 columns for the actual lead. I guess we could create a survey table and an additional columns table and load them both from the web form. The survey columns would be populated by the canvassers. Being a complete newbie I appreciate any and all assistance. Thanks.

Since you are doing surveys, have you looked into using LimeSurvey?
It is an open-source survey tool that many companies use in conjunction with ViciDial.

I think you lost me. I could download a "Free Evaluation Copy". Is that what you are referring to as Open Source?
