I am thinking about skinning VICIDIAL GUI Interface like DIAL PRIX (aka the Packet-Shaper) guys did. It will be on a template like form. Im quite sick of being worried that if I change some part of the gui it will not work at all. Any one who wants to help matt out on BEAUTIFYING vicidial? Post your comments and Ideas here.
No more vanilla interface. No more headaches. Improving vicidial looks will also come with improving the over all performance of vicidial. Let's admit it if it looks prettier more people will use it. Then we are going to be forced to make it more effective.
this is just an idea matt. You do the code and let other people make it look good for you

Here are the design restrictions for inclusion in the project:
The restrictions on the web GUI are:
- must fit within a web browser application on an 800x600 VGA screen
(this leaves 770x450 actual space)
- must not have any main data fields or control functions hidden or only accessible by scrolling
- must use compatible code with Firefox 1.0 and higher and use only Javascript for client-side parsing and AJAX

You can count on us. Let us know if the design previously submitted meets your requirements. Please resize it in the browsert to get an idea of what it will look like for the settings you forwarded. You can count on our assistance for this effort. Looking forward to working with you.

It'd be nice to change the gui template depending on the campaign!

Thats what Im counting on kchung. Not all the campaigns are the same.
Now the next move is how to start? I suggest we take a look at what the packet-shaper guys did or we can start the template code and put it somewhere.

any update on that subject ???
I'm very interested too !
btw i was searching for informations on development tools used for this project and could't find any in the forum.
may be a good startpoint for skin/gui modifications compatible with mat's requirements for integrating in project would be to define a basic devpt toolset and guideline ?

I use the following tools when I code on Win32 machines:
EditPlus - text editor with PHP and Perl color-coded code
WinMerge - a diff file viewer and editor
Filezilla - FTP/SFTP file transfer client
Photoshop - graphics editor
RapidSVN - subversion server GUI interface
Firefox - web browser
On the Linux side I use all of the standard tools, all are listed in the SCRATCH_INSTALL actually.
