Postby ykhan » Fri Apr 17, 2009 1:29 pm

How to implement an upgrade for FreePBX environment. I am upgrading for 2.0.4-148 to 2.0.5. Anything in particular to address? Thanks.

rewriting the conf files in 2.0.5 means you want to stay away from the files being rewritten (even if you don't intend to use this function right now, better to allow for it).

This site does not support the integration of FreePBX and Vicidial, though.

That being said: Remember to keep FreePBX and Vicidial using seperate contexts (the overhead in FreePBX will hurt otherwise). Don't mix them and don't allow Vicidial to "invoke" any of the FreePBX functionality, as it ALL comes with a LOT of overhead.

The primary reason to combine the two was to easily create trunks and extensions (which Vicidial does in the new version!) unless you actually need a PBX with the functionality of FreePBX. Of course, the best scenario would then be a seperate box, now that Vici can create trunks and extensions.
