HP ProLiant DL360 G7 Server any known issues?

Hi Guys,

I am looking at this server possibly for a VICIdial database server, and I was wondering if anyone knew of any known issues with it or had any experience with this model or HP ProLiant in general:

Model: HP ProLiant DL360 G7
Processors: 2 x 2.00Ghz E5504 Xeon Quad Core
Memory: 8 x 4GB PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) (32GB Total)
Hard Drives: 2 x 146GB 10K SAS 2.5" 3GB/s
Drive Bays: 4 x 2.5'' hot-swap bays
Power Supply: 1 x HP 460W Gold
Number of Power Cords: 1
RAID Controller: HP Smart Array P410 with 256MB Cache
Network Interface: 4 x Gigabit Ethernet
Video Card: Integrated Video Card
Optical Drive: None
Integrated Lights Out: iLO 3
Bezel: Not Applicable
Rails: Not Included
Software: Windows Server 2012 Evaluation Edition
Warranty: Standard 90 Day

Any advice would be appreciated.

4 cores is a little light. 8 would be better.

2.0Ghz is a little slow. 2.3 or 2.6 would be better for 8 cores, 3.0 or above would be better for 4 cores.

RAID 10 is recommended. You will also find many references to MEGAraid controllers for heavy use systems on this vicidial forum. lots of conversations on that topic. Note that heavy use is based on power of the system vs how you use it. If you only have 4 cores at 2.0 Ghz, "heavy use" will happen very quickly. But if you have 8 cores and 2.6Ghz "heavy" may be a bit farther into the future.
