Load balancing

Postby blue_skye » Sat Jan 30, 2010 12:44 pm

Hi!
I am trying to deploy my first call center based on Vicidial system with load balancing capacity. If i am not wrong, vicidial currently do that based on IAX2 trunk. That is mean, when a call comes in server 1, it might be bridged to agent on server 2 but the server 1 is still in the middle and when server 1 is dead, all the calls are dropped.. I wonder how it gonna light weight for server 1 anyway as it still have to handle all the calls that come to system, is there anything that i am missing?
Thanks in advance!

Your sincerely!

Yes, you are correct, although properly installed and sized systems don't just go dead and crash very frequently at all.
